Mid Sussex district council has approved plans to regenerate the area around Haywards Heath station.
The £17m scheme is being led by Solum Regeneration, a partnership between Network Rail and Kier Property, which is working in conjunction with train operating company Southern and Waitrose.
The Solum scheme will deliver:
•An integrated transport hub at the station
•Station parking
•Pick up/drop off facilities
•Enhanced public realm
The regeneration will also bring a Waitrose supermarket to the town.
Solum plans to start work at Haywards Heath this summer and the scheme is expected to complete by late 2014.
