Green light for LandSec’s refurb of Dashwood House

Land Securities has won planning consent for its refurbishment of Dashwood House, Old Broad Street, EC2.

The consent allows for the addition to the existing 15 storey 187,000 sq ft building of another 41,000 sq ft of offices on three floors

Work will commence early in 2007 and is expected to complete late in 2008.

Mike Hussey, managing director of the company’s London portfolio, said: “The decision to refurbish rather than redevelop is in our view the right one as we wish to deliver this scheme into a strong market.

“The proposed scheme will deliver improvements to the external surroundings while upgrading the offices to meet the exacting demands of an office occupier.”

Fletcher Priest is the architect.
