Clarion Housing Group’s development company, Latimer, has been given the green light to build 165 houses at Sandbach, Cheshire.
The scheme at Abbey Road comprises 116 homes for private sale, 32 at affordable rent and 17 homes for shared ownership. The homes are a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom houses, designed by PRP Architects. The reserved matters planning application was submitted in May 2018, following a number of withdrawn attempts.
Richard White, director of land and planning at Clarion, said: “We want to deliver 50,000 new homes nationwide over 10 years, and the North West is a major priority for us.
“We are actively looking to acquire land – by ourselves or in partnership – which can be turned into high-quality housing, as we have done at Sandbach and Salford Quays.”
Latimer has appointed Cheshire-based Lane End Group for the build, with construction set to begin next month. It will be Clarion’s second scheme in the North West following the start on 272 homes at Salford Quays.
