Bolton-based developer Gordon Moon Properties has received planning permission to develop an £8m mixed-use scheme in central Bolton.
The 49,100 sq ft development at 120 Bark Street will include offices and 2,600 sq ft of retail on the ground floor.
The development site is currently occupied by furniture retailer Pinewood. Its store will be demolished during the development.
Nigel Moon, director of Gordon Moon Properties, said: “The planning committee should be congratulated for its forward-thinking approach to this decision.
“This is the kind of development that will considerably lift the profile of Bolton as a competitive business location.”
CB Richard Ellis is project managing the scheme, which is designed by architect Aedas.
Michael Robinson, director at CBRE and lead consultant for the project, added: “This signifies a great move forward for Bolton.”
The developer is hoping to secure a prelet before work on the scheme begins.
CBRE is joint letting agent with local firm Miller Metcalf.
