Green light for Nottingham’s ‘apart-hotel’

Planners have approved a 13-storey residential complex, in the centre of Nottingham.

The £25m ‘apart-hotel’, to be developed by Flambards on the site of the former 10-storey postal sorting office in Huntingdon Street, will include around 300 apartments and flats, plus a 203-space car park, restaurants and bars.

Nottingham Civic Society had raised concerns over the height of the building.

However, councillors said that, as planning permission had been granted two years ago for a scheme of similar height, it would be difficult to turn the apart-hotel down on height grounds alone.
