Green light for Slough offices

Landid and Brockton Capital have been given the go-ahead to develop the Porter Building in Slough, Berkshire.

Slough borough council granted permission for the joint venture to build the 115,000 sq ft development at 1 Brunel Way, which will replace the existing 1980s block on the site, which as been vacant since 2010.

The TP Bennet-designed proposals include breakout space, a roof terrace and a water feature and aim to complement the Grade II listed train station, which will benefit from the arrival of Crossrail in 2019.

Construction is due to start in January 2016 with expected completion in August 2017.

Chris Hiatt, director at Landid Property, said: “The Porter Building will be Slough’s best located modern workplace, offering the next generation of occupiers a competitive working environment just 30 minutes from central London when Crossrail opens.”
