Greencoat Capital will build a pair of enormous, low-carbon greenhouses in Norfolk and Suffolk at a cost of £120m.
The UK’s largest clean energy fund plans to start construction immediately and will begin growing crops by autumn 2020.
Each greenhouse will be 7m tall, have one-and-a-half times the square footage of the O2 in London and will use the UK’s largest ever heat pumps and will be able to produce 20 tonnes of tomatoes… a day.
