The chief executive of pub group Greene King, Rooney Anand, predicted more merger deals in the pub industry after his company’s bid for rival Spirit was accepted.
Greene King’s £774m offer for Spirit has been accepted, although it is still possible it could be trumped by a bid from C&C Group.
Anand has ruled out the possibility of selling off parts of Spirit.
