Greenland offers a view of the Spire

Chinese residential developer Greenland Group has released new images of Spire London, the tallest residential tower in Western Europe.

The 67-storey skyscraper, overlooking West India Quay next to Canary Wharf, E14, will begin construction in early 2017 with a scheduled completion in 2020.

Greenland Group, which has over 882m sq ft of commercial and residential projects worldwide, said the Spire is its most important development and highlights London’s continued importance for overseas investors.

The £800m tower will include 861 apartments, a concierge service and other luxury amenities.

Chairman and president Yuliang Zhang said: “Spire London will create a new iconic landmark on the London skyline. This tower will be Western Europe’s tallest residential building and underlines London’s enduring status as a world-class city and destination.”

Wenhao Qian, managing director of Greenland UK Investments, said: “This important launch reflects the confidence that Greenland Group continues to have in both the London economy and the London property market.

“We believe that there is always a demand for best in class property assets that offer a high-quality, bespoke, designed and unique product in a prime location.”
