Greggs raises profit forecasts, again

High street pie-vendor Greggs has raised its profit forecasts for the fifth time.

Greggs announced a 13.5% rise in total sales for the year to December 28 and a 9.8 lift in like-for-like sales, adding that profits were likely to be higher than the £111m forecast by analysts.

The ‘food-to-go’ chain, which currently has 2,050 stores across the country, has had a boost from the popularity of its vegan sausage rolls, which will now be joined by a vegan steak bake and a vegan doughnut as part of a growing animal-free range.
