Grenfell Tower appeal raises more than £250,000

More than £250,000 has been pledged by the property sector to help those affected by the Grenfell Tower fire.

All money raised from LandAid’s two-week appeal will go directly to the British Red Cross London Fire Relief Fund.

The British Red Cross is working in partnership with the London Emergencies Trust, which will distribute the funds to those in need.

Mark Astarita, director of fundraising at the British Red Cross, said: “The British Red Cross would like to thank LandAid’s foundation partners and supporters for their generous contributions to the London Fire Relief Fund in support of those affected by the Grenfell Tower fire.

“We know no amount of money can take away the pain of this tragedy but we hope that it will help towards removing any financial barriers families could face when trying to access support and rebuilding their lives.”

The appeal was supported by RICS, the BPF, Revo, CPA, WPA and the HBF.

A number of major companies from the industry donated funds, while others offered accommodation for victims left homeless.

Individuals wishing to make a contribution can do so directly at the British Red Cross London Fire Relief Fund.
