Greykite hires Goldman Sachs trio

Greykite Investment Adviser has expanded its team by hiring three former Goldman Sachs professionals.

The firm, founded by former TPG executive Michael Abel, recently secured a cornerstone investment from Capital Constellation and Leucadia Asset Management.

The new hires – Mike Bradford, Shelby Weiss and Nam Do – collectively have 30 years of experience. They join Abel and senior partner Dan Valenzano, also a former TPG executive, at the business.

Bradford joins as chief financial officer and will be responsible for overseeing Greykite’s corporate and fund finance functions. He will also be on the firm’s operational and valuation committees.

He spent 15 years at Goldman Sachs, most recently in its European private alternatives asset management business, and previously in the merchant banking division and special situations group. During his time there, Bradford specialised in risk, structuring and finance for alternative assets and helped grow the firm’s assets under management.

Greykite has appointed Weiss as principal. She will be responsible for originating and executing new investments and managing portfolio companies.

Weiss worked at Goldman Sachs for more than nine years, out of the London and New York offices. She was most recently part of the European real estate investing team based in London, covering UK and Ireland equity investments and pan-European credit investing.

Before her move to London, she spent two years at PIMCO, covering real estate equity and credit strategies in the US.

Nam Do has been named as a vice president and will be responsible for executing new investments and managing portfolio companies. Prior to joining the firm, he worked at Goldman Sachs for seven years as part of the European real estate principal investing team covering Nordic, UK and Ireland equity and pan-European credit strategies.

Abel said: “With over three decades of relevant experience at Goldman Sachs, and expertise across equity and credit strategies in key sectors and geographies, they will complement our team very well. We look forward to working with each of them to execute our unique pan-European strategy.”
