Greystar gets approval for 577-bed mixed-use scheme

Greystar and Student Roost have received planning permission for a 577-bed development in Bristol.

The mixed-use scheme, which will replace the NCP car park on Rupert Street, includes student accommodation and co-living studios.

The site includes a single building comprising two towers. One tower will have 328 beds designated as student accommodation, with a mix of room types such as en-suite flats for friends, self-contained studios and accessible flats, and a student sky lounge. The 249 beds in the second tower will be co-living studio flats, and will be managed by Fifth State.

There are also plans for a gym, wellbeing studio, cinemas and recording studios, alongside a shared student and co-living foyer and events space.

The site is within walking distance of the University of Bristol and the city centre.

Rupert Street and the surrounding area will undergo rejuvenation, with retail space and a new public car park with 400 spaces and electric charging points.

Ashling Fox, managing director at Student Roost, said: “Resident experience and satisfaction will always be a priority at Student Roost, and the 24/7 customer service, all bills included in rent, events designed specifically for the student community and an unwavering commitment to wellbeing we are known for will be at the heart of this new property.”
