Greystar launches consultation on £500m Croydon scheme

Build-to-rent provider Greystar is holding a public consultation for its revised plans for the One Lansdowne Road site in Croydon that it acquired earlier this year.

The developer acquired the site from Guildhouse Rosepride, with prior planning consent for a £500m scheme comprising two buildings of 68 and 45 storeys, joined by an 11-storey podium.

The 2017-approved plans (pictured), which have since lapsed, comprised 794 homes and 375,000 sq ft of office space.

Greystar has revised the previous scheme and plans to reduce building heights to 47 and 32-storeys.

The revised plans will provide 780 homes, which will be delivered at discount market rent and flexible workspace for Croydon’s “budding business”.

In Greystar’s revised plans, the 11-storey podium building will be replaced with a new green public square at ground level.

The developer has also included plans to create a safer link to the East Croydon station, with improvements along the street and at ground floor.

The public consultations were held yesterday (28 March) and continued today (29 March).
