Greystar to get approval for car park-to-resi Bristol scheme

Bristol City Council has been recommended to approve Greystar’s residential-led mixed-use redevelopment of the Rupert Street NCP Car Park.

The developer has submitted proposals for a 328-bed purpose-built student accommodation block through its Student Roost brand and co-living accommodation with 249 homes that will be managed by Fifth State.

The 0.7-acre site is within the Bristol Central Area Plan which has been earmarked for a mix of uses including new homes, student housing, youth and community facilities.

Greystar’s proposal includes demolishing the 498-space multi-storey car park and several neighbouring vacant retail assets.

The developer will provide a new car park with 400 parking spaces.

The proposed Student Roost PBSA will consist of 120 private studios and 208 beds within cluster flats.

Amenity space would consist of communal lounges, a gym and wellbeing studio, study areas, a cinema, laundry rooms, and communal kitchen and living spaces.

The proposed co-living scheme includes similar amenities.

The scheme will be discussed at Bristol City Council’s planning meeting next week.
