Grigg: diverify or suffer

Reading-University-THUMB.jpegDiversity and how it is integral to the development of the real estate sector was the topic of conversation at the Reading Real Estate Foundation’s annual dinner last month.

British Land chief executive Chris Grigg told the crowd of more than 400 industry professionals: “I’m going to let you in on a dirty little secret: property is not a diverse industry and less diverse industries do badly over time.”

The dinner, sponsored by Europa Capital, is one of a raft of fundraising events the RREF charity hosts yearly.

Savills chief executive Mark Ridley, CBRE’s Sue Clayton and Alpha Real Capital’s Paul Cable launched bursaries for students coming through Pathways to Property to study real estate at the University of Reading in 2015-16 at the event.

A total of £18,000 was raised during the evening.
