Grosvenor Estate and Beaufort have unveiled detailed proposals to turn the outdated Bristol & West tower site in Bristol city centre into a landmark mixed-use scheme.
The £35m scheme, known as the Broad Quay Central development, will feature 18,000 sq m (193,756 sq ft) of mixed-use space, including 148 luxury apartments and duplexes overlooking the harbour, 3,000 sq m (32,293 sq ft) of retail and leisure and 3,000 sq m (32,293 sq ft) of offices. The existing tower will be demolished.
Jeremy Titchen, commercial director at Grosvenor, said: “Bristol represents an ideal opportunity to provide a tailored scheme which is part of the current wave of development in the city.”
A public consultation has taken place and, if consent is given, work will begin in summer 2001, with completion due in autumn 2003.
