Grosvenor and x+why team up to create flexible workspace for charities

Grosvenor and the Westminster Foundation have teamed up with x+why to create a flexible workspace near London Victoria station, aimed at charities and social impact organisations.

The site at 8-10 Grosvenor Gardens, SW1, will be called Fivefields and will launch this autumn.

The 30,000 sq ft charity hub will be run and managed by x+why, a B Corp-certified company, and specifically aimed at charities and social impact organisations who improve outcomes for children and young people.

The Westminster Foundation will offer grants for membership costs to a select group of these charities to help them rent workspace alongside other purpose-led occupiers.

Hugh Grosvenor, Duke of Westminster, who initiated the project through his roles as chair of Grosvenor Trustees and chair of the Westminster Foundation, said: “So many brilliant charities and social impact organisations are working flat out to support vulnerable children and young people.

“We want to help by creating an inspiring workspace that will encourage collaboration, generate new ideas and facilitate the sharing of best practice on how to tackle issues together.”

Grosvenor is developing the space behind the original Victorian facade. It will include a 90-person capacity event space and a shared club space.

As with all their workspaces, x+why will curate a cultural and wellbeing programme of events including yoga, mindfulness activities, talks, panel discussions, workshops and social networking.
