Grosvenor promotes Burrows to global sustainability role

Grosvenor has promoted Tor Burrows to the newly created role of group sustainability director, overseeing its global strategy across all business lines.

The new role will see Burrows head up sustainability across the group’s international property, food and agtech, and rural estates businesses. She will also continue as executive director of sustainability for Grosvenor Property UK.

The group has made a commitment to reduce emissions in line with limiting global warming to 1.5°C. Burrows’ focus will include decarbonising property holdings; investing in businesses and technologies that can disrupt the food industry’s carbon-intensive practices; and to preserve, restore and enhance rural environments.

Chief executive Mark Preston said: “We’ve committed to pursuing carbon reduction targets, aligned with limiting global warming to 1.5°C. Having set the strategy and established such a successful sustainability programme within our UK property business, Tor’s expertise will be invaluable in ensuring that we continue to turn our sustainability ambitions into action and make progress across every element of our organisation globally.”

Ed Green has also been promoted from co-head of alternative investment to sustainability director for Grosvenor’s UK property business, where he will be responsible for leading its social impact and sustainability team.
