Grosvenor unveils Preston revamp

Preston Tithebarn

Grosvenor has revealed the first internal images of its long-delayed £700m regeneration of Preston’s Tithebarn area.

The Duke of Westminster’s property company – which last July teamed up with Australian developer Lend Lease in a 50:50 jv to bring the project forward – is proposing a 1.5m sq ft mixed-use scheme in the Lancashire city.

Plans for the development were first proposed in 2005, but its anchor, John Lewis – which will take a 230,000 sq ft store – was not signed up until January 2007.

The scheme is scheduled for completion in 2013, five years later than originally planned.
