Grosvenor Britain and Ireland has been granted planning permission for 400 homes by Edinburgh City Council.
The homes, in the former industrial area of Fountainbridge, will be built for the private rental market.
David Yaldron, director city centre developments, Grosvenor Britain & Ireland, said: “Our project team has collaborated closely with local neighbourhood organisations and today’s decision marks an important and exciting step forward for the area’s wider regeneration.
The first phase of development at Springside, Fountainbridge, is already complete. Its 250 homes include homes for sale, affordable homes for the ‘frail and elderly,’ serviced apartments and 46 rental homes, alongside two student residences.
The architects on the scheme are CDA and HTA.
