GVA appointed to sell CAU portfolio

GVA has been appointed to find a buyer for the CAU restaurant leasehold portfolio by its administrator Deloitte.

CAU traded from 22 locations totalling 73,000 sq ft across the UK prior to entering administration earlier this week.

The addition of the CAU portfolio takes the total amount of restaurant space relinquished by retailers in 2018 up to 570,000 sq ft across 173 separate units, according to Radius Data Exchange.

Stephen Cowperthwaite, head of retail, hotels and leisure at GVA, said: “CAU represents a strong underlying portfolio of restaurant premises located across the UK, situated within both prime high street locations and destination leisure developments.

“We have received strong interest in large parts of the portfolio and are pleased to be assisting the administrators in the maximisation of value for the benefit of creditors.”
