GVA has hired Stuart Howie to lead the firm’s regeneration and development team.
He joins from PwC where he had been a director for 21 years working in government infrastructure, economic growth, devolution, funding and public reform. Howie will be located in Leeds and his appointment follows the departure of Ben Hall, the former head of the company’s Leeds office, who is joining Colliers International.
The company has also recruited Saurabh Das to its strategic advisory team, which deals with complex property, organisational change and financial issues for the public and private sectors. Das advises public departments, health boards and local authorities and previously worked with the Government Property Agency, Department of Health and PwC.
Paul Dickenson is joining GVA from CBRE to head its facilities management division. He will work as a director for GVA Acuity, the firm’s FM company, and will oversee sites including the Berkley Square Estate.
GVA appointed 26 new directors and senior directors between September last year and June this year and has appointed 290 new staff during 2018.
The announcement follows the news of five senior departures over the past week, including that of Neil Dovey, the company’s head of transactions and capital markets, who is leaving to join Legal & General Investment Management as head of annuity transactions.
Gerry Hughes, chief executive of GVA, said: “We continue to recruit great people into the business and reward those who really meet our cultural and financial expectations with promotion. The calibre and experience of those coming on board speaks volumes for the strength of the GVA brand and how the business is performing.
“We are on track building not just to deliver our budget in 2018, but for the future. We are on course to have a year to be proud of and this will provide an excellent platform to drive the business forward in 2019 and beyond. It’s an exciting time for GVA.”
