GVA nabs Wandsworth and Richmond briefs

GVA has been appointed by Wandsworth and Richmond councils to manage their property investment portfolios and advise them on complex disposals.

The portfolio, managed previously by Lambert Smith Hampton, comprises more than 600 assets, including office assets, institutional buildings and car parks.

GVA will aim to drive rental income, occupancy and value across the combined estates. The firm will “identify a range of opportunities for active asset management, including targeted refurbishment programmes and the leasing of void space to strengthen and diversify the tenant mix and income stream”.

The land and development team at GVA, led by Barney Hillsdon, as part of a panel of five, will undertake the complex disposals. These will include surplus operational properties and development sites.

Lisa Riva, who heads the property management team at GVA, said: “Winning this mandate from Wandsworth and Richmond councils is an endorsement of our record of adding value to public sector portfolios through asset management, both in London and nationwide.”

Hillsdon said: “We believe there are opportunities within public sector property portfolios that can unlock sites to deliver high-quality residential and commercial schemes in Wandsworth and Richmond.”

GVA also manages a number of other local authority portfolios, including Westminster, Enfield, Hounslow, Tower Hamlets, Hammersmith & Fulham and the GLA’s land at the Royal Docks. It also has mandates with the MoJ, MoD and DCLG.
