GVA Grimley has poached Roy Backhouse from Hitchcock Wright & Partners to help boost its presence in Liverpool.
Blackhouse, an industrial specialist, joins GVA’s national industrial unit and will work alongside GVA’s Liverpool boss David Sayer to aid the company’s strategic growth on Merseyside.
GVA’s Liverpool office opened a year ago and now has a staff of 14.
Sayer said: “Roy’s impending arrival adds a significant dimension to our substantial range of services.”
Robert Dunston, GVA’s industrial partner with responsibility for growth in Liverpool, said GVA wants to be a “top two player” in the city by 2008.
He added: “This represents a major coup for the firm. Roy is an equity partner with Hitchcock Wright and Partners and is a highly prominent player within the Merseyside property market.”
Backhouse will begin in his new role by May 1 at the latest.
