Hamleys is to open a 399 sq m (4,300 sq ft) Toystack store at AMP and Slough Estates’ 56,855 sq m (612,000 sq ft) Buchanan Galleries shopping centre on Glasgow’s Buchanan Street.
The store will be the group’s first in Scotland. Hamleys announced in March that it planned to spend around £3.5m expanding its Toystack chain. It was launched in north London in 1975 and currently trades out of 11 stores in the M25 area and one in Nottingham. It wants to open five stores a year over the next five years.
Buchanan Galleries is scheduled to open next spring.
