Hammerson has appointed Maxime Depreux as the chief operating officer in its premium outlets team, with responsibility for its portfolio of European outlets.
Depreux will report to Timon Drakesmith, chief financial officer and managing director of the premium outlets arm.
Depreux joined Hammerson France as an asset manager in 2009 before joining the outlets team as investment director in 2014, following the creation of the VIA Outlets fund in 2014.
During 2016, the VIA fund bought five new outlets and built up a gross asset value of €1.2bn (£1bn) across 10 centres, in line with its original acquisition strategy.
