Hammerson signed the first tenant for its Bull Ring development, in central Birmingham. The retailer is signing up for 19,974 sq m (215,000 sq ft) to Debenhams on a rumoured 35 year lease. It is not known how much Debenhams is paying.
Hammerson has another 96,616 sq m (1.04m sq ft) to rent at the £300m development. It wants to find one other large tenant and hopes to sign four or five mid-sized operations such as Boots.
