Hampton plans tallest tower in UK

Birmingham may be home to Britain’s tallest building if, as seems likely, plans by Hampton Trust are approved by the council this summer.

The £300m Arena Central, to be built overlooking Centenary Square, was originally planned as Britain’s second tallest building at 228m (750ft). But councillors have encouraged Hampton Trust to make it even taller.
