Hanro gets green light for Durham offices

Belmont Business Park, Durham

Newcastle-based Hanro Group has gained consent for a 100,000 sq ft office complex on the final plot of available land at Durham’s Belmont Business Park.

The five-acre scheme, to be known as Parkgate, will include 18 two-storey and three three-storey buildings, as well as two stand-alone retail units.

Hanro aims to start building on site in early January 2008 with the first buildings ready within six months.

Managing director Adam Serfontein said: “The development boasts a prime accessible location at the entrance of an established business park.

“The buildings range in size from 1,500 sq ft to 30,000 sq ft and will be available on flexible lease terms or they may be purchased.

“There will be something for all types of business from large scale companies to smaller units for SMEs.”
