Cheshire West and Chester Council’s Cabinet has granted a long-term extension of the current lease for the operator of culture centre Storyhouse.
Picturehouse Entertainment will continue to run the building until 2047. The lease was extended for an extra 10 years, replacing the previous agreement which was due to expire in 2037.
The 26,048 sq ft venue opened in 2017. It features a theatre, library, cinema, restaurant and a community space. It attracts more than 850,000 visitors annually.
The extension of agreement is expected to support Picturehouse’s ambitious community engaged programme and provide all stakeholders with longer-term security.
