Analysts have predicted the increased likelihood of a bid for Rank Group after the company sold its Hard Rock Cafe chain to Seminole Hard Rock Entertainment for £490m.
Rank’s other interests include 114 Mecca bingo halls and 35 Grosvenor casinos in the UK.
Analysts said the price achieved for Hard Rock was too low.
