Investment firm Harrison Street and Global Student Accommodation Group have teamed up on their seventh development in Dublin, unveiling plans for a 235-bed project in the city centre.
The Sweeney’s Corner student accommodation development, which will also include 37 build-to-rent homes, is in Dublin’s historic Liberties district and close to universities including Trinity College Dublin, Dublin City University, Royal College of Surgeons, and Dublin Institute of Technology.
The building will include cluster beds, studio, and one-bedroom apartments with amenities such as a gym, rooftop terrace, communal garden and a movie room. The project is expected to complete in time for the 2021 academic year.
Other Dublin developments overseen by Harrison Street and GSA’s Irish joint venture include New Mill and The Tannery, the sites adjacent to Sweeney’s Corner.
Robert Mathias, senior managing director and head of international business for Harrison Street, said: “Dublin’s student housing market remains significantly underserved, with high barriers to entry and we look forward to continuing to provide students in top-tier university cities with much needed access to world-class accommodation.”
