Harry Potter stars invest £24.5m in global properties

The stars of Harry Potter have accumulated properties worth £24.5m in the UK, France and New York.


Actors Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson have spent £24.5m of their estimated collective earnings of £85m on property, according to research by PrimeLocation.com.


Radcliffe, aged 21, who plays the title role, has a New York collection which includes a £3.5m penthouse in Lower Tribeca, a £4m townhouse in Greenwich Village and a SoHo apartment worth £3m. He also bought a £730,000 flat in Fulham, London.


Grint, who plays Ron Weasley, has acquired three Hertfordshire properties: a £5.54m site, a £3.35m house and a £495,000 detached property.


Watson, who plays Hermione Granger, spent £1m on a chalet in the French Alps ski resort of Meribel. The 21-year-old also purchased a £3m townhouse in Hampstead, north London.


Nigel Lewis, property analyst at PrimeLocation.com, said: “Whether by luck or design, the Harry Potter stars have shown magical timing when it comes to stepping onto the property ladder. They have a knack for investing in the most desirable locations across the globe.”
