Harvey Nichols unveils concept store

Harvey-Nicks-new-look-brum-reception-380Harvey Nichols has unveiled details of its new design concept store at the Mailbox mixed-use scheme in Birmingham.

The store, which is due to open in July, will be the model for future Harvey Nichols stores.

Set in the heart of the Mailbox, the 45,000 sq ft store was designed in partnership with Virgile + Partners, and introduces innovative design and digital technology.

Showcasing more than 200 luxury brands, many of which will be exclusive to Harvey Nichols Birmingham, the new store will also have beauty rooms offering beauty enhancing and relaxing treatments.

As tipped exclusively in Estates Gazette (28 February, 2015) Harvey Nichols has teamed up with celebrity chef and owner of the Michelin starred Purnell’s restaurant, Glynn Purnell. The partnership will see the celebrity chef create an all-day menu and mentor the restaurant’s new head chef and hospitality team, recruit local suppliers, and source the specialist ingredients.

The restaurant will have an open-plan kitchen and chef’s table, cocktail bar and private dining room.

Stacey Cartwright, group chief executive officer of Harvey Nichols, said: “This is a landmark moment, not just for our Birmingham store, but for Harvey Nichols. It is hugely exciting to be launching our new design concept store in Birmingham.
