Hawkstone Properties gets go-ahead for 384-home Southampton BTR

Hawkstone Properties has received planning approval from Southampton City Council to develop a 384-home build-to-rent scheme. The site is the former gasworks near St Mary’s Stadium, the approved scheme will comprise four blocks ranging from eight to 17 storeys. The Corstorphine & Wright-designed development will reference the site’s industrial heritage in both architectural and landscape elements. Edward Norman, design director at Corstorphine & Wright, said: “Our vision for the project is to contribute to the sustainability and prosperity of this part of Southampton adjacent to St Mary’s Stadium. “The distinctive scheme, which will form the northern gateway to Itchen Riverside and City, has been designed to echo its industrial past.”
