Plans have been approved for a new 72,000 sq ft urban logistics scheme, known as Tritium, in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire.
HBD will develop three grade-A facilities of 13,396 sq ft, 17,976 sq ft and 39,876 sq ft on a three-acre brownfield site which it recently bought for £6.2m.
The developer is targeting a BREEAM Excellent rating for the scheme, along with an EPC A rating, incorporating energy-efficiency measures such as solar PV panels.
Work is set to begin on site later this year, with completion expected in the final quarter of 2023. The GDV of the project is projected to be more than £20m.
Simon Quine, senior development surveyor at HBD, said: “Tritium is very well-located within an established industrial estate, so we anticipate continued strong interest in the scheme – particularly given the ongoing shortage of industrial stock coming forward in the South East. One unit is already under offer.”
Adroit Real Estate Advisors and Hollis Hockley are letting agents for Tritium.
