HBD lodges plans for Luton business park expansion

Property developer HBD has submitted proposals to deliver the next phase of Butterfield Business Park in Luton, Bedfordshire.

The expansion will see the development of 454,000 sq ft of facilities in addition to the existing 325,000 sq ft.

Along with commercial space, the business park offers amenities including the Basepoint Innovation Centre, The Village office campus and a 155-bed Hilton Garden Hotel.

Existing occupiers on site range include Eden Farm and Shoal Group.

Vivienne Clements, head of industrial and logistics at HBD, said: “Since work began at Butterfield in 2015, the scheme has played a key role in supporting the growth of the local and regional economy.”

Nick Diment, partner at Knight Frank, which was appointed to manage the planning process, said: “In order to facilitate economic growth, businesses require greater flexibility when it comes to securing planning permission for employment uses. Our latest submission aims to provide this.”

Leasing agents for Butterfield Business Park are Cushman & Wakefield, Adroit and LSH.
