HD1 appoints Colliers for Huddersfield scheme

HD1 Developments have appointed Colliers CRE to market the £50m St George’s Quarter in Huddersfield town centre.

The mixed-use scheme in the Yorkshire town will redevelop an 1870’s Grade II-listed warehouse into 70 flats, 83,000 sq ft of offices and 7,900 sq ft of retail.

Construction on the development, located next to the town’s main railway station, is dues to start next March.

Richard Barker, Associate Director of office agency at Colliers CRE in Leeds said: “Geographically Huddersfield is very well placed with major benefits that include excellent rail links and close proximity to the M62.

“Its countryside appeal and ease of access to major cities such as Leeds and Manchester is spurring major development activity and St George’s Quarter is at the heart of this.

“It is one of the regions most significant regeneration projects that was identified as a landmark proposition for Huddersfield and consequently our pitch is to secure high profile occupation.

“We believe that the unique attributes of historic value, the availability of exceptionally large and flexible floor plates and competitive rents will drive considerable interest and success in the short term.”

Surveyors Michael Steel & Co have also been appointed to market the scheme.
