South African health and fitness company Healthlands UK has gone into receivership, following a rapid expansion programme in the UK.
Jonathan Furst, who heads up the Leisure Net-owned Windsor-based company, was not available for comment. But Dominic Walton of Insignia Richard Ellis, which is advising Healthlands, said: “It literally happened last night. We’re in touch with the people affected by this, although no one has been instructed to deal with the receivership at the moment.”
The company’s existing outlets include Capital & Regional’s Xscape scheme in Milton Keynes, a solus unit in Crawley and the Heron City scheme in Madrid.
Over the past year, Healthlands had also signed up to take space at several schemes around the country including Delancey’s Millennium Plaza in Cardiff, Wilson Bowden’s Central Park scheme in Rugby, the Arndale Centre in Wandsworth and Marylebone Warwick Balfour’s Bentley Bridge scheme in Wolverhampton.
