Hearthstone splashes £23m on Hampshire BTR

Suburban build-to-rent investor Hearthstone Investments has bought 70 new homes near Farnham, Hampshire.

The 64 houses and small block of six flats were purchased for around £23m from a national housebuilder and form part of a scheme of some 3,500 homes, phased delivery of which will begin later this year.

Richard Otten, director at Hearthstone, said: “The investment is a cornerstone holding in the recently launched Hearthstone Residential Fund 2. Given the local infrastructure and transport connections, this development is an excellent fit for our suburban private rented housing strategy.”

Since the launch of its first fund focused on UK suburban private rented housing in 2012, Hearthstone has built an income-generating portfolio of more than 1,400 homes across England, Wales and Scotland.
