Great Portland Estates has secured a deal with beer giant Heineken at its Wells&More development in London’s Fitzrovia.
Heineken UK has agreed to take a 10-year lease on 17,000 sq ft of recently refurbished office space at 45-49 Mortimer Street, W1. It will move in early next year on a ready-to-fit basis.
The firm is relocating from GPE’s Elsley House, W1, in a move that will enable the landlord to create a further five fully managed units and amenity space in the vacated property.
Heineken UK managing director Boudewijn Haarsma said: “As the UK’s largest pub, cider and beer company, it’s really important that we have an exceptional office space in central London that reflects the personality of our business and our collaborative ways of working.
“With facilities including smart meeting rooms, flexible working spaces, showers for colleagues who cycle or run to work, and of course Heineken UK wouldn’t be complete without a bar to showcase our fantastic brand portfolio, the new space at Wells&More fits all the criteria.”
Rob Russell-Smith, senior portfolio manager at GPE, added: “This latest letting is evidence of how our strong customer relationships, combined with a flexible, well-located portfolio, allow us to work together with our customers to meet their requirements as they evolve. Furthermore, this move will enable us to actively unlock space in Elsley House, enhancing our fully managed offer in Fitzrovia, where we are tapping into strong demand for such high-quality, flexible spaces.”
Heineken is also moving its Edinburgh HQ from Broadway Park to a central Edinburgh location at St Andrew’s Square.
