Heineken plans to spend £38m revamping a third of its pubs as it adjusts to more of its customers working from home.
The multinational brewer, which owns about 2,500 pubs in the UK as part of its Star Pubs & Bars business, will focus on creating “premium locals” in suburban and high street locations within a 10-minute walk from residential areas.
About 700 local pubs will benefit from the investment by the end of the year, including almost 80 pubs that will undergo makeovers costing between £125,000 and £400,000.
Every scheme will be tailored to the pub, the brewer said.
