“The protection of our shareholders’ interests, the delivery of the company’s strategy and the alignment of both through the activities of a talented and motivated management are key to our success.”

In a statement to the London Stock Exchange, Helical Bar announced a strong start to its financial year, saying it had continued to make progress across its activities.

Chairman Giles Weaver said the company had a growing pipeline of residential and retirement village projects.

He said the Government’s recently announced intention to accelerate housebuilding was “a helpful backdrop to these planning negotiations”.

The company said it had received a number of planning consents in London including consent for a 350,000 sq ft scheme at Mitre Square, EC3, a 50,000 sq ft office development at Battersea, SW8, and an office/leisure scheme at Clareville House, Panton St, SW1.
