Henderson gets go-ahead for south-west London scheme

Henderson Global Investors’ fund TR Property has been given the go-ahead for a £15m mixed-use scheme on Battersea Park Road, London SW11.

The Assael Architecture-designed 54-flat scheme, which includes 23,000 sq ft of commercial space, will replace a former 1960s office block.

The scheme will include four separate buildings arranged around a central six-storey hub, and will convert the Edwardian building at the rear into apartments.

It obtained planning approval from Wandsworth council this week, following a public inquiry last year.

The development will provide 25% affordable housing.

Work is expected to start on site in mid-2003.

Knight Frank is the agent for the scheme and FPDSavills acted as planning consultant.
