Henderson Park has completed the acquisition of two of the UK’s largest hotels for £500m.
It has bought the London and Birmingham Hilton Metropole hotels – which have more than 1,800 beds between them – with a seven-year £330m senior loan through Aareal Bank.
The company said it plans to take on an asset management programme to enhance the value of the hotels, where Hilton will remain as manager.
Nick Weber, founding partner of Henderson Park, said: “The completion of this acquisition brings two significant hotel assets into our portfolio, both of which offer a number of opportunities to further enhance their value through the implementation and repositioning programme we intend to undertake with Hilton.
“We are pleased to bring the first Hilton properties into our portfolio and we look forward to a rewarding long-term relationship with Hilton on these and other assets.”
The deal marks Henderson Park’s entry into the UK hotel market, following investments in Paris and Athens earlier this year.
