Henry Boot & Sons to open office in Manchester

Sheffield-based construction and property company Henry Boot & Sons is to open an office in Manchester next month. The office will co-ordinate the company’s efforts to push through ten deals it has agreed in the North West which are currently in solicitors’ hands.

Henry Boot’s property manager Ken Gledhill told EGi News: “We want to reflect what we have achieved in Yorkshire on the other side of the Pennines. We want to be in a position to take advantage of business if Manchester Airport gets its new terminal.”

Gledhill confirmed that Henry Boot is about to add to its 28.33ha (70 acre) holding to the south of the M55 at Kirkham, Lancashire, in order to create a retail park.

He also indicated that Henry Boot is looking to acquire land in the Stockport area to develop industrial units. Other schemes in the pipeline include a retail scheme in Kendal, Cumbria.

Gledhill confirmed that the new Manchester office would employ up to three surveyors.
