Heriot-Watt University seeks development partner for research hub

Edinburgh’s Heriot-Watt University is seeking a development partner to help it extend its research and development hub.

The university has appointed JLL to lead the search for a partner to deliver future phases of Heriot-Watt Research Park, a 165-acre site at the university’s Riccarton Campus.

Current tenants at the park include green hydrogen technology firm Logan Energy, pharmaceutical company Charles River Laboratories and the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service.

Almost 70 acres are available for future development, with the university’s aim to deliver a campus that could house both businesses and academia and will integrate with the wider range of mixed-use schemes currently being developed in the west of Edinburgh.

Heriot-Watt University deputy principal of business and enterprise Gillian Murray said: “We are excited about the prospect of finding a new partner who shares our values and can help us realise our Strategy 2025 ambition through the development of our Research Park.”
