Hermes and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board have submitted plans to revamp the commercial elements of the South Bank Central tower, SE1.

The TP Bennett-designed proposals will reconfigure 269,000 sq ft of shops and offices, add a roof terrace and enhance public realm.

The duo bought the site – which also includes 99 flats – in 2014 for around £150m from Jadwa Investment and CIT Group. The tower is under construction. If the latest proposals are approved, the overall scheme will complete by the end of 2016.
