Hermes makes new hire for real estate fund

Hermes-logo-NEW-2014Hermes Investment Management has taken Ben Patton from Barclays to work on its real estate debt platform.

Patton will join as an associate director with responsibility for originating and executing real estate lending for the company’s £400m debt fund.

Patton will report to Vincent Nobel, who was hired in November last year.

This will be the second time the two have worked together. Nobel previously worked at Barclays before moving to M&G and then Hermes.

The Hermes real estate debt fund was formed in 2013 with a cornerstone investment of £400m and announced last year that it had an international investor lined up to inject more funds.
